The Valley is situated
at an altitude of 1,336 m above sea level and covers an area
of 218 sq. miles. The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage
of Nepal is synthesized in the Kathmandu Valley, the home
of the ancient and sophisticated Newari culture. The skillfully
built temples and palaces, delicately -engraved stones and
metal images, carved wooden columns and pillars, and the history
laden shrines and chaitays of these three historical cities

The ancient city of patan, lying 5 km southeast of Kathmandu,
is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu

BHAKTAPUR
Situated at an altitude of 1,401m , Bhaktapur covers an area
of four square mile. Bhaktapur or the City of Devotees still
retains the medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town
are treated to myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements.
The past glory of the Malla rulers continue to be reflected
at the Durbar Square. The city lies about 14 km east of kathmandu
and can be reached by public transport

| NATIONAL MUSEUM |
| This National museum
is located at the place called Chhauni near Swayambhunath Stupa,
two & half km west of Kathmandu. This National museum displays
a good collection of war weapons, artifacts of ancient, medieval
and modern Nepal. The most interesting thing you can see here
is the leather Tibetan Cannon. There is also a superb collection
of statues carvings--some pieces date to the 1st century BC.
Its archaeological and historical displays are worth seeing.
This museum is open everyday except on Tuesdays and on Government
Holidays. |

| NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM |
| The only of its kind
in Nepal is situated 3 km west of Kathmandu behind the Swayambhunath
hillock. It was established in 1975 AD and provides the detailed
information to the tourists about nature, geophysical study
of high altitude birds, flora and fauna, etc. This museum,
managed by Tribhuvan University, has over 14,000 unique collection
of butterflies, fish, reptiles, Birds, mammals, plants and
variety of fossils collected within the country. |

| NAGARKOT |
| Nagarkot is a beautiful
place situated 32km east of kathmandu at an altitude of 2175m
above the sea level.The panaroma of the major peaks of the eastern
Nepal Himalaya including Mt. Everest can be seen. It is the
famous place for panaromic view of sunset and sunrise. |

| DAKSHINKALI |
| Dakshinkali is located
20 km southern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, literally meaning
the Kali of the south. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess
Kali, a Hindu Goddess of Power. One can see a sacrificial ceremony
of goats, chickens, ducks etc on every Tuesdays and Saturdays.
This shrine is situated in a forest canyon beautified by natural
surroundings. |

| GORKHA |
| Gorkha is the birthplace
of The King Prithvi Narayan Shah the Great , the founder of
modern Nepal. Situated on the hill overlooking the snowy peaks
of the Himalaya is a beautiful old Palace known as Gorkha
Durbar. There are two attractive Temples of Gorakhnath and
Kali inside the Palace precient.Gorkha can be reached in about
six hours by road from kathmandu and four hours from Pokhara.

| MUKTHINATH |
| The famous temple of
the Lord Vishnu lies in the district of Mustang and is situated
about 18 km northeast of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3749
m.This temple is the greatest place of the Hindu god Vishnu
containing 108 taps of natural origin with hot water. In the
life of Hindus after birth if you visited the place or temple
will get mukthi in life. |

| GOSAIKUND |
A lake is believed to
have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishula
(trident) into a mountain to extract water so that he could
cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison. There
is a large rock in the center of the lake, which is said to
be the remains of a Shiva shrine. People often claim that they
see Shiva lying in the water. Devotees gather here in hordes
on the full moon night of August to take holy dips in the lake.
Gosaikunda is situated at the altitude of 4380 mt to the north
of Kathmdnu on the Langtang trekking trail. The holy lake is
a two day long trek from Dhunche, which can be reached through
an adventurous 118 km mountain road from Kathmandu via Trishuli
Bazaar. |

| MANAKAMANA |
| The temple of Manakamana,
a very popular pilgrimage in Nepal, is a temple of one of the
manifestations of the Hindu goddess Bhagawati. Bhagawati is
believed to have the power to fulfill wishes. It lies 125 km
to the west of Kathmandu. It is a steep three-hour hike from
Abu Khaireni on the Kathmandu-Gorkha highway. Cable car however
also takes travelers to Manakamana. |

| DHULIKHEL |
| Dhulikhel has a glorious
past which can be seen in the lovely buildings and intricate
wood carvings in the shop-lined streets and temples. Plesant
climate (even during summer) is big attraction at dhulikhel. |

| GOKARNA |
| This lovely Royal Game
sanctuary is also known as Gokarna Safari Park and is situated
about 12 km northeast of Kathmandu. Many wild animals can be
seen in this Safari Park such as spotted deer, wild boar and
antelopes. Visitors can ride on the elephant to watch the animals
in this park. |

SANKHU |
| Sankhu is a typical Newari
town with many fine old buildings and temples. Beyond the village
ascending a long flight of stone stairs leads to Bajra Jogini
- a historical temple commanding a beautiful view over and around
Sankhu Town below. |

| SUNDARIJAL |
| Sundarijal is famous
for its scenic beauty. There are magnificent waterfalls, cataracts
and rock formations. It is an ideal place for a day hike with
lunchbox or an overnight camp with all meals and accommodation
in tent. It is about one and a half-hour walk from motorable
road. |

| ANNAPURNA |
| It is in western part
of Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Nepal's largest
conservation covering over 7600 sq km protects this area. Annapurna
is the world's most popular region for unique scenes and a meditative
glimpse of SHANGRI-LA. |

| POKHARA VALLEY |
| Pokhara , an enchanting
city nestled in the tranquil valley is the starting points for
many of the Nepali's most popular trekking and rafting destination.
The serenity of the Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fishtail
summit of Machchhapuchhre 6977 m rising behind it create an
ambience of peace and magic. The valley surrounding Pokhara
is home to thick forest, gushing rivers, clear lakes and the
world famous views of the Himalaya. |

| Chitwan is one of the
finest national parks in the Asia, renowed for its dense concentration
of the wildlife and top class tourist lodges, which provide
the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat. Chitwan
which means the heart of jungle is among the last surviving
examples of the continuous band of the forest and grassland
which once extended from the Indus river in Pakistan to Burmese
border .The main attraction here is the national park called
ROYAL CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK, one of the largest forest regions
in asia teeming with wildlife such as the rare great one horned
rhinoceros, several species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, wild
boar, fresh water dolphin, crocodile, more than 350 species
of birds and the elusive Royal Bengal tiger. Visitor to Chitwan
may enjoy elephant back excursions, nature walks, canoe trips,
jungle treks. The five hour journey to chitwan from kathmandu
is filled with thrilling views of the hills, rivers, and plains
with jungle on either sides. |

| BANDIPUR |
Located on a 1,000 m
ridge in Tanhu district some 140 km from Kathmandu, Bandipur's
hallmark is its beautiful scenery. Bandipur is a part of western
Nepal.
At the eastern part of the town is the pagoda-roofed Bindabasini
temple which huses goddess Durga, Bandipur's guardian deity.
The rich wooden carvings and detailed brass-work that adorn
the temple are replicas of those found in the many old pagoda
structures of the Kathmandu Valley. |

| EVEREST |
| The Khumbu region of
Nepal is one of the best-known treks in the world. This is the
land of the Sherpa people and the world's great 8,000 meter
peaks. Many trekkers walk in from the roadhead at Jiri, through
the lovely rolling hills of the Solu region. Others fly in to
the village of Lukla to start their trek. |
